Love this piece, Ford. Especially the part on whether content can make us more aware too

wow, yeah I vlogged for 30 days to challenge myself to be consistent and as the days went on, the shorter the videos got as I edited and cut them down. I sort of felt bad taking up space and time while sharing my mundane routines. But I notice there’s so many videos that share long coffee making montages or something - moments I remove - but in the comments people love watching and feeling like “we’re just hanging out.”

This read inspires me to try and risk keeping those moments and be more unapologetic for my space on the internet.

Thanks for reading, I'm really glad you're feeling inspired to take up that space. Yea, I think people do like it, and even more importantly I think it's way way healthier for you, especially if you’re going to be creating content every single day (which is something human beings have no precedent for). Creating content should definitely be helping us to explore and expand -- not just training our self-editor!

i love this. i struggle with fast/get to the point content because it feels so opposite of who i am and how i like to create. i have really enjoyed Nara Smith and her daily vlogs/morning routine videos because she is genuinely so calm and “slow” but in the best way. obviously she’s still having to cut and edit to meet time restraints but what she creates feels like a breath of fresh air amidst all of the sped up routine videos, super choppy edits, etc. thanks for sharing and having this convo! 🤍

Yea I wish there was more of that feeling on the internet -- I'm happy to hear I'm not the only one. Appreciate you taking the time to read!
